Guide to Palm Beach
Updated with new favorites!
Palm Beach has enchanted me since I was young. The gorgeous architecture, the lush landscaping, the chic shopping, and the well mannered old school Palm Beachers. This is an island where doors are held open, long time residents say please and thank you, and the hedges are perfectly trimmed. It is charming, chic, and above all it is old school glamorous!
I emphasized small, local businesses for Lycette's guide to Palm Beach. Of course there are a plethora of fabulous luxury designer stores that dot Worth Avenue and reside in Royal Poinciana, but what enchants me are the small businesses that give character and heritage to this small island.
SHOP
Leta Austin Foster
Leta's store is legendary. It is chicly curated and filled with home accessories that you never knew you needed. The candle selection is marvelous and the Porthault linens are always tempting. My favorite area of the store is tucked in the back, a china and ceramic section of the most marvelous table settings. Perfectly curated, undoubtably charming.
Kassatly's
Old School pajamas and nightgowns, gorgeous cashmere sweaters, unique and high quality appliquéd linens and cocktail napkins. Friendly, inviting, and value and heritage driven. A must stop.
Il Papiro
Clearly y'all know I love anything marbled (look at The Lady Derby's collection)! Il Papiro specializes in high end marbled desk accessories, journals, and (my personal favorite) frames!
Stubbs & Wootton
Lycette loves Stubbs & Wootton! We are flattered to partner with them, but beyond that we adore this iconic store and the lovely family that owns it. Their loafers and mules are elevated, witty, and elegant. A true PB institution!
Mary Mahoney
Eye candy everywhere. Herend, china, crystal, beautiful linens. Truly a must stop! Inspiration abounds.
Casa Branca
Chic and welcoming, Casa Branca is a non-negotiable if you love interior design. The perfectly decorated shop is filled with gorgeous home accessories and stunning fabrics!
Trillion
Quality classics, think sweater sets in the most scrumptious colors. Plus a shop dog? What's not to love?
Lycette Needlepoint
I *may* biased but I adore our flagship store, Lycette Palm Beach. Definitely worth a visit.
PB Boys Club
A surf and skate shop where you can also find practical jokes AND Stubbs & Jack Rogers. I love their "We Don't Honk in Palm Beach" bumper sticker.
Gentleman's Corner
Greg would LOVE to have his wardrobe outfitted by Gentleman's corner! Classic and well cut, sports jackets that last a lifetime!
The Church Mouse
An iconic thrift store run by Bethesda by the Sea, the local Episcopal church. Closed during off season, but fabulous finds when it is open! Think Italian ceramics, gorgeous china, and chintz curtains. A treasure trove.
The Classic Bookshop
You know those marvelous bookstores where the employees actually read and know what to recommend? This is one of them!
Coniglio
Coniglio is where the Palm Beachers shop. The store is island cool, and everyone is welcome! Think boho surfer chic- perfectly effortless separates that can be dressed up or down.
The Nix
Palm Beach native Nikki has brought her eye for rattan accessories and coastal art to South County. I adore her wicker handbags, they look especially fabulous with a needlepoint monogram on the front!
Well Made Home
The Well Made Home is a treasure trove of home accessory trinkets and gorgeous fabrics. I never leave here empty handed. Especially fabulous for hostess gifts.
DINE
Greens Pharmacy
The Kennedy's and Carleton Varney ate here, an old school soda fountain in a drugstore. Think greasy spoon breakfasts and burgers for lunch. My favorite is a strong cup of coffee and their grits, with cheese and hot sauce of course. Mr.Needlepoint favors the corned beef hash with a side of diet coke.
Surfside Diner
More elevated than Green's, Surfside serves delicious breakfasts and lunches. Mr. Needlepoint and I often stop here after a bike ride for their salads. Be sure to get a side of fries, a glass of iced tea, and a slice of one of their cakes!
Celis Produce
Order the Dirty Funk smoothie, you'll thank me later.
Field of Greens
Our favorite place to order salads from! I adore the Full of Life salad and the Kale 2 Caesar salad, while Mr. Needlepoint favors a Chicken Caesar wrap.
Buccan Sandwich Shop
Amazing, our go to pick up for a beach or pool day. My regular is the tuna salad sandwich, Greg gets the buffalo chicken. Order the potato chips, get extras. Honestly serve them as an appetizer for a dinner party. They are THAT GOOD.
Pizza al Fresco
Picturesque. Pizza, pasta, and salads in a courtyard under palm trees with twinkly lights. Be sure to make a reservation, they get quite busy.
Ta-boo- CLOSED
Old school, like founded in 1941 old school. This restaurant exudes tropical chic with it's monkey murals and trellis. The happy hour is fabulous; however, my favorite is their divine desert the Taboo Lust.
Buccan
Beyond. Perfectly delicious and an ever changing menu. Mr. Needlepoint and I love to go here on a date night. The people watching is also amazing!
Renatos
Romantic. Be sure to make a reservation and ask for a table outside. You will be surrounded by orchids, palm trees, candles, and a slight breeze. Our favorite place for pasta on the island.
Imoto
Delicious sushi tucked away next to Buccan. Be sure to make a reservation, this restaurant is small and fills up quickly!
STAY
The Colony
If you're on Instagram then you have seen and heard of The Colony. It is the favorite of influencers for a reason. Located at the end of Worth Avenue, the Colony features a gorgeous lobby, in house coffee shop, proximity to the beach, a shuttle service, and a gorgeous poolside restaurant. A place to see and be seen.
The Brazilian Court
Small, chic, and private. I adore Cafe Boloud for an elevated breakfast and the salon at The Brazilian Court is my go to for haircuts and color. Centrally located and within fabulous walking distance to Worth Avenue and South County.
The Breakers
Founded by Henry Flagler the Breakers is a true resort. Multiple restaurants on property, a golf course, fabulous pools, and a stunning beach. Not to mention chic shopping on property, croquet, and a spa. The Breakers is an indulgence- one to cross off a bucket list!
The White Elephant
The Palm Beach outpost of this Nantucket favorite is small and elevated. Home to Lola 41 and a short walk to Royal Poinciana Plaza and the shops and restaurants on Royal Poinciana Way, this hotel is a fabulous option.
The Palm Beach Hotel
The most affordable of all the accommodations on the island! The rooms are smaller and function more as AirBnb's.
EXPLORE
Flagler Museum
The WhiteHall, Henry Flagler's winter residence is marvelous. While the house is old world stunning, it is really the grounds that captivate me. A little bit of culture and history to savor while exploring Palm Beach Island!
Lake Trail
Mr. Needlepoint's and my idea of a perfect day is a lazy morning followed by a bike ride around the Palm Beach Lake Trail. This trail winds around Palm Beach and offers gorgeous views of not only the water, but also Palm Beach's iconic estates! If you are visiting be sure to rent a bike from the Palm Beach Bicycle Trail shop in Royal Poinciana.
Beach
Palm Beach has a plethora of gorgeous and public beaches. My favorite time of day on the beach is early morning or late afternoon, the sand is cool and the tourists have left. Perfect for a walk with Mr. Ohs or a picnic with Mr. Needlepoint. PS one time a client and friend found a washed up Birkin during an early morning beach walk! I cannot!
Worth Avenue
The Rodeo Drive of Palm Beach. Gorgeous Addison Mizner architecture and charming vias dot this iconic Avenue. Designer stores and small boutiques abound as well as restaurants.
Royal Poinciana Plaza
Home to Sant Ambroeus (my favorite spot on the island for coffee) and a plethora of luxurious designer stores, Royal Poinciana Plaza is great for an afternoon of shopping! Pop into Honor Bar for lunch (Macho Salad with a side of fries) and then stroll through the chic and elegant shops.
Bingo & Trivia at The Colony
While the hotel at The Colony is popular with out of towners, the bingo & trivia nights at Swifty’s are beloved by locals. Be sure to make a reservation for a table beforehand, these nights are extremely popular!

Something fun & different to do while on island. Would be fabulous for a bachelorette or girls trip!

Tuke Bazaar has a gorgeous selection of clothing, handbag, and home accessories. It is also located next to my favorite lighting store.

An old school diner that is open LATE NIGHT! Get here early for weekend brunch but be sure to also stop by for their TV dinner special. This place is fun and perfect for children.
City Diner
A favorite diner for breakfast and home to delicious hash browns. Classic and uncomplicated, City Diner is a staple.
Circa Who
Located in Northwood this boutique specializes in Midcentury and Island style furniture. The furniture is always beautifully restored and lacquered and the staff is helpful. This is a go to for designers and interior design lovers.
Palm Beach Regency
Another resale shop that specializes in Island Style furniture! Palm Beach Regency is HUGE, like two warehouses big. Definitely worth the drive!
Kitchen
A favorite in West Palm Beach, but be sure to make a reservation and be SURE to order the coconut cake!
Civil Society Brewery
Dogs are allowed, which makes this brewery an A+ in my book! Beyond their dog friendly policy this brewery has delicious New England style IPA's and hosts weekly trivia nights. There is no food (other than chips and popcorn), but you can order in delicious pizza from Civil Society's down the street neighbor, Grato.
Stage
Mr. Needlepoint and I discovered this Indian inspired restaurant last year. The food is delicious and it is a scene! Fun for a night out!
Composition Coffee
My favorite off island coffee, and favorite coffee in Palm Beach County. Greg swears this is the best espresso outside of Italy. If coffee isn’t your thing, they also make an amazing matcha.
Pumphouse Coffee
Go to the Pumphouse Pouratorium in West Palm Beach- the food is beyond (breakfast especially) and the coffee is delicious too. Be sure to arrive early, it fills up quickly.
Dixie Bar & Grill
A great place to go with children in West Palm Beach. There is a TON to look at (perfect for I Spy) as there are knick knacks hanging from the ceilings and memorabilia on every wall. Greg adores the burger, while I love the tuna crips. If you order the sweet potato fries they come with marshmallow fluff.
Oceano Kitchen
Located in Lake Worth, Oceano Kitchen is a place for those who love food. The menu changes daily based on what the chef finds at the market. Please note that this restaurant only allows cash.
The Blind Monk
Recently relocated to the AKA hotel in West Palm Beach, The Blind Monk is delicious. It is small, and the food is exquisite. This restaurant is perfect for a date night.
The Catch
If you are a Parrothead then you will LOVE this restaurant. This is a hole in the wall located next to a pawn shop. It is a mix of Peruvian and Japanese, and the vibes are laid back. Whenever we go here I feel like I am in the Keys, not Palm Beach Gardens.
Flanigans
If you want to seem like a local, drop that you love Flanigans. This Florida chain restaurant is where EVERYONE goes- whether you are a celebrity, a fishing captain, a famed interior designer, or a family with small kids. The food is dependable bar food- they are famous for their ribs.
Papa Kwan’s
Papa Kwan’s has two locations (North Palm Beach & Jupiter). If you find yourself in North Palm be sure to pick up their coconut iced coffee with coffee ice cubes & a breakfast burrito.
Don Victorio’s
The best juice- freshly made and at a reasonable price. I love to go after a morning class at Yoga Path, or when I start to feel a cold coming on.
Meg Braff
The chicest home store. Filled with fabulous vintage furniture, but also cute grab and gos like coffee table books. If you happen to be in town while Meg is hosting an event be sure to go. The best parties are at Meg Braff!
Cafe Med
Brand new to West Palm, and seriously delicious. Fabulous burrata and pastas. A cute place for date night or a girls dinner.
The Blue Door
My favorite upscale restaurant in West Palm Beach. This is a SCENE, so make sure to have reservations. Be sure to order the lamb, it’s our favorite.
The Park
If your golf loving partner tagged along to Palm Beach then send them to The Park in West Palm Beach. A beautiful public golf course with a short course, a practice facility, and The Cabana (the bar near the putting green & a great Saturday afternoon hang). There is also a restaurant for dinner, and the whole facility is very kid friendly.
Dixie Highway/Antique Row
This is a MUST when in Palm Beach/West Palm Beach. Grab an iced coffee and stroll down Dixie Highway. Pop into the antique stores and grab delicious tacos at Cholo Soy. Inspiration abounds.
Mr.B’s Tavern
Mr. B’s Tavern is a new addition to the West Palm’s interior design street, Georgia Avenue. The same owners as Kitchen, the food is delicious & non pretentious. If you want a Party (with a capital P) go on Friday and Saturday when the DJ is playing. If you want a lowkey dinner go any other evening.
